Coffee With Caregivers: Jamerika Haynes-Lewis, FPAWS supporter and former foster youth

Live on Facebook at 8am Seattle time on Tuesday, September 28th

Join Irene Clements, Executive Director of the NFPA, for a discussion with Jamerika on her experiences as part of the Foster care system, and learn more about how she is working to be sure children in Foster care have a voice.

A native of Tacoma, Washington, Jamerika has more than ten years of experience as a journalist and advocate for children in foster care. While growing up in foster care, Jamerika was determined to have a different life than the one she experienced. She put herself through college earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Washington State University.

Previous employers include the YMCA of Greater Seattle and Press Enterprise in Riverside, CA. She is USA Ambassador Ms. 2021 through the USA Ambassador Pageant. Her platform is ‘A Chance to Succeed: Empowering Youth in Foster Care.’

Using her diverse skills set, Jamerika has become a premier motivational speaker. She strives to share a message of hope, especially for those who have felt alone, unknown, and forgotten.

“I formed Clever Jam to help people better serve children & families in child welfare,” says Jamerika:

“It is my hope I inspire people to share their stories and create change in their communities.”
