Privacy Policy

What personal data we collect and why we collect it.

We collect personal data including your name and email address when you manually enter it into the site/log in. We share this data among FPAWS volunteers to meet your request, and possibly with third parties if you entered data in order to attend an event.

We collect some automated personal data such as IP address and browser user agent when you interact with the site (eg; by commenting on an article), and we store some information about you as cookies on your computer to recognize you on future visits – you can delete these cookies at any time. We send some of this data to third party services such as Gravatar (anonymized), Akismet and in order to identify spam or known user accounts.

Newsletter signup

When you sign up for the newsletter your contact information is sent to Mailchimp for our automated emails. You can unsubscribe by responding to any email.

Contact form

Feedback or questions through the Contact Us form will be emailed to the relevant FPAWS volunteers and saved on the server for a period of time. If you would like to get a copy of your feedback, or for us to delete it from the server, you can request this through the feedback form using the same email address as the first submission.

Conference signups

Information you provide when signing up for a conference/training session may be provided to third parties as needed to run the event.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. This includes, for example, twitter and Evergreen Caregivers Forum in the sidebar.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Family Time Network Providers

We will ask you to submit personal information through this website. We may share this information with third parties as necessary to complete background checks, assess your application and to coordinate visitation once accepted as a provider.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

FTN providers will have their personal information and qualifications kept on record for as long as they are part of FTN. Some information will also be kept after any FTN relationship ends, as part of complete business records and history. At any time you can request to know what information about you we have on record.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.

We cannot remove records of eg; phone calls between yourself and FPAWS. Email communication may also be recorded on the email servers used by us (gmail) or yourself.
