Info: new sexual health education details for WA schools

Parents in Washington may have heard something about the new legislation requiring Comprehensive Sexual Health Education (CHSE) in public schools, and can now see the details and example curriculum provided by the state Superintendent, along with questions and explanations about some common misunderstandings of the law.

Since local districts are free to create their own curriculums and lesson plans, parents should talk to them for more information about specifics of what will be taught at their own school – every parent/guardian has the right to review the curriculum offered in their child’s school, and they also have the right to request for their child to be excused from some or all lessons.
