Iron Workers apprenticeship program

The Iron Workers and R3 Community Services have partnered to offer 4 weeks of hands-on training as well as supportive services (rent, food, boots, equipment, etc) which will lead into entry to the Iron Workers apprenticeship program for youth between 18 and 26 who have experienced either incarceration or foster care. Application Day is Wednesday May 12th.

The Apprenticeship is a 4 year program starting at $27.15/hr, with raises of $2/hr every six months plus full benefits, pension and PTO. Youth will graduate with a valuable skillset that they can use all over the world!

  • May 7th – intro zoom conference to get an overview of the opportunity. Sign up to get the meeting link.
  • Sunday May 9th, 3pm-5pm – pre-readiness training at Liberty Park, Renton. Not compulsory but strongly recommended.
  • Wednesday May 12th 10am – 1pm : In-person Evaluation Day, pass/fail test to gain entry to the Readiness Pre-Apprenticeship program. Held at the Ironworkers Facility in Tukwila, WA (Iron Workers 86, 4550 S 134th PL, Suite 101, Tukwila WA 98168)

Pre-apprenticeship program time commitment: Monday – Friday, May 24 – June 18, 6.30am – 2.30pm
