Seeking a Foster Youth to Throw First Pitch at Mariners’ We Are Family Day

Seeking a Foster Youth to Throw First Pitch at Mariners’ We Are Family Day

The Department of Children, Youth, and Families is seeking an older youth (ages 13 to 18) to throw out the ceremonial first pitch during the 2019 We Are Family Day Mariners ballgame at T-Mobile Park.  This year’s game will take place on Sunday, May 19.

To be eligible, youth must currently be in a foster or kinship care placement.  The youth’s caseworker will need to request the court’s permission for the youth to participate in this public event.  Caregivers may be asked to work with the youth’s caseworker to gather the necessary permissions.  No baseball expertise and experience is required; however, the identified youth does need to be prepared to stand in front of a full stadium and throw the first pitch.

If you know a youth between 13 and 18 years old who would like to be considered to throw the Mariners’ first pitch in honor of We Are Family Day, contact Holly Luna  at 360-902-8035; [email protected].  Holly will be accepting nominations until Friday, April 12.
