Training webinar from the NFPA: Replacing Trauma Bonds with Healing Relationships

Training webinar from the NFPA: Replacing Trauma Bonds with Healing Relationships

This training will allow participants to understand better the links between childhood trauma and neglect, the child welfare system, and sexual exploitation.

What makes children involved in child welfare more vulnerable? How will poor attachment increase risk and the trauma bond between the child and their perpetrator? As caregivers, how can we help children heal from the trauma of trafficking?

Participants will be able to:

  • Define human trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation of children, and domestic minor sex trafficking;
  • Gain a better understanding of who is vulnerable to trafficking and why;
  • Gain a better understanding of the trauma bond and what needs a survivor may have;
  • Identify fundamental principles of developing a transformational relationship.
