University of Washington pilot test: Connecting

Foster Parents and Relative Caregivers with teens placed in your home who is 11 – 15 years of age – this information is for you!  

Connecting is a prevention-focused program, to help strengthen family relationships and help caregivers develop skills to reduce risky behavior among teens. Researchers at the University of Washington pilot tested Connecting to find out if it works with caregivers of children in foster care and found promising results from this easy to use, high impact intervention. They are looking for 260 foster youth and their caregivers to participate in the study.  Read more about how you can participate in Connecting and the positive comments already made by caregivers.
