Early Childhood programs now accepting applications

Children in kinship and foster care automatically qualify for FREE ECEAP Preschool in WA, regardless of the guardian’s income.

Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) is Washington’s pre-kindergarten program that prepares 3- and 4-year-old children from families furthest from opportunity for success in school and in life. The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) oversees the program.

Since 1985, ECEAP has focused on the well-being of the whole child by providing comprehensive services to Washington’s most at-risk young children. The program is aligned with nationally researched programs that have shown exceptional returns on investment.

ECEAP programs run statewide, and you can find your nearest ECEAP programs listed in this document (organized by legislative district) – https://www.dcyf.wa.gov/sites/default/files/pubs/EL_0024.pdf

(Thanks to Auburn School District ECEAP for letting us know that programs are now accepting applications for the 2021/2022 school year! See the attached flyers, in both English and Spanish, with details and enrolment instructions for Auburn.  Staff are working to fill over 150 FREE ECEAP Preschool slots within the Auburn School District, part of the 14,000 children served across the state.)
